X1 Platform :: On Demand

Goal
To redesign and improve previous versions of Comcast's set-top box ecosystem. We introduced the ability to turn any screen into a 'TV' allowing users to access their linear, DVR, or On Demand content on any device.

Role
UX lead for the On Demand section of the X1 Platform. Responsibilities included establishing navigation patterns, designing layouts, and working with video business and product teams for defining content strategy.

I was also responsible for documenting and ensuring all sections met accessibility standards.

Process
Start by establishing overall architecture and desired layout based on insights gathered from previous research while abiding by guidelines set forth in by the patterns. Worked with various API teams to determine proper image sizes, metadata, and attributions were delivered so that our designs supported all cases and weekly updates from editors. We then refined and improved based on feedback through in-home user testing and data collected from usage reports.
